Putting Off The Old Self

Do you ever take a look at yourself and wonder why certain things bother you as deeply as they do? Why you get so angry in that particular situation, or tempted by that particular thing, annoyed by that certain person, or overwhelmed by that specific issue? The Apostle Paul famously said, “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.” Ever been there?

It’s not only difficulty in understanding ourselves, but also in understanding others. Are there certain people in your life that you just don’t understand? Like it just seems like the way that they view life and the world is just completely different from you? Is it difficult for you to love them?
